An institution! Just go-you'll be happy you did. Friendly service, great ambiance, yummy breakfast with lots of options. I have been eating here since the late 90's and have never had a bad experience. Be prepared to rub elbows with real people. Outdoor seating options.

Long-standing SW institution. Cash only, so be prepared. And, whole party must be present to be seated as they are small and do a lot of business. It's just what it advertises, good food, good portions and good times. Amazing breakfast for reasonable prices and the license plates are so fun to look at, all over the walls. Parking can be a challenge in the Village, but that's okay. Often they offer cinnamon rolls for pre-order to take home and are crazy good. So glad that a honest, old Portland place is still going strong. If you haven't been, you haven't had breakfast!

Stopped in for breakfast on a Friday morning and got seated right away. So glad we split the cinnamon roll! It's massive and amazing. The Fat City sizzle was good with perfectly cooked veggies (not raw and not mushy). The decor is fun and eclectic. We loved looking at the different states and countries that the license plates come from. This is not a place I would take a large group. It's not a very big restaurant and while they have some tables to could seat 6, it's really designed for parties of 2-4. Also strollers should not come inside. It's just not big enough to accommodate them and people.

Came in with 6 of us. Grandkids too. Seated right away. Cozy, nostalgic cafe. License plates lined the walls. Great menu. Had a omelette with spinach and sausage and blueberry pancakes. Hash browns were cooked perfect, not burnt or greasy. Omelette was put together nicely and the pancakes were big with lots of fruit. Server was very nice and checked up. Good bang for your buck too. We'll visit again. You Can't go wrong of There a map of the state as a placemat!

We've been going here for years and its always a good time. I feel like Fat City is a real multnomah village institution. I got the irish benny. I would call it pretty typical diner food but in a good way. All they're walls are covered with old license plates and other fun signs. I always come back here once in a while and its always nostalgic. Would not recommend on weekend brunch times, incredibly busy. But if you can go on an off time, its very good.

Food was amazing . Gives you old Country vibes on a long road trip . Portions are good as well . It's family owned so you see the family helping take orders
